Though you cower in basements and attics, they seem to see you through worm-eaten eye sockets, and you can hear the exposed bones of their fingertips scraping away at your flimsy barricades. Endless legions of undead shamble toward you in full force, an unstoppable apocalyptic swarm of ravenous corpses after just one thing: your flesh.

Friday, July 25, check your pulse at the door and join the Undeath March, a blood-drenched mob of zombies which will assail downtown Portland, OR with an unforgettable evening of horrific participatory street theatre. Beginning around 7 pm, zombies will assemble at the Everett Station Lofts (NW 6th and Everett). All are welcome to show up in full zombie attire (bloody wounds, ripped clothing, guts hanging out) though a team of dedicated Zombie Masters will help transform the living into flesh-craving corpses.

Ten years in the making, this full theatrical performance of Dan Abbott's zombie rock opera Day of the Zombie rises from the grave Friday the 25th. Written amongst the thriving mutant underground of Oakland, CA; including members of Hobo Gobbelins, Clan ov thee Bleeding Eye, International Maggot Theater, Nommo Ogo, Extra Action Marching Band, and legions of related projects; Day of the Zombie has been presented as a band show and as a radio drama, toured alongside Thee 999 Eyes Ov Endless Dream, and premiered as a musical play co-directed by Abbott and Noah Mickens in 2006 at Someday Lounge.

The plot involves mad scientists, super-computers gone awry, and the destruction of human civilization, all within the first ten minutes of show. And then the real fun starts. Think of it as a more down-home version of Jesus Christ Superstar, with enough balls to tackle the best part of that story—the Ressurection. It's an all-singing, all-dancing, all-consuming deathfest.

Directions to Catharsis 3

Here is where Catharsis will be so if you want to avoid an underwhelmingly super duper time, do NOT go to this place! We will totally be there ruining people's weekend with our expressive laze. Your weekend can be just as crappy by following these three easy steps

(1) Take 26 West from Portland. Drive to milepost 32 and start watching for SALMONBERRY RD. on your Left.
[if you get to Music rd. on the right you missed it]

(2) Turn LEFT onto Salmonberry rd and set the odometer.

(3) Drive 1.1 to 1.2 miles and then there will be an extremely sharp right turn. Be careful making the turn and drive up the hill for about 50 feet.

Park your car behind the first car you see and get out of the car. Don't block the road, as people may need to get past your car. Congratulations or condolences, but you are there. Prepare to have Catharsis 3 heaped upon you. Feel free to begin booing as soon as you get out of the car.

Notes: About 42 miles drive from PDX to the party and less than 1.3 miles of well maintained gravel. We will do our best to mark the turns with Glow sticks or something, but if you drive more than 1.5 miles on the dirt road (Salmonberry), you have most likely missed the Extremely sharp right turn. The location is near where Tr1lolgy was thrown, but not in the same spot. I would rather not have people parking on Salmonberry, but if you do, park well, because people do drive up and down that road.

A'damn is currently browsing the woods for another spot, but a lot of the spots up on hood are snowed in so we may have to go another direction. The party will happen, but do not go to the Goa spot. Eight and a half years ago a squirly little band of misfits hosted a FREE outdoor party in the woods called POOP. The whole point of this party was to break away from the commercialism of the mainstream raves taking place in the mid to late 90’s… and play the music we loved.

So we set forth to attempt to throw one hell of a hoe-down for our friends, our lovers, their friends, their friend’s lovers, a mud basking zippy, two dogs, and a midget named Raoul. A community of folks pulled together and each contributed a little bit to make this party happen. Kinda like a techno potluck of gear and dj’s…

The people rejoiced and danced all night and we knew we had to do it again… SO we did. And thus began a wild and kooky adventure that mutated into something we called [inertia labs]

Eight years have passed, and we are returning to our roots, for one FINAL party. If you have been to one of our parties in the past, you might know what to expect. If not, you are in for a real treat. From New York, to Arizona, to the San Francisco bay…We are getting stormed with emails from folks who are flying in to attend this event. The “buzz” is HUGE... (and we haven't even printed flyers yet!) Chances are you just might see a few faces you haven’t seen ‘round in a few years.

DIRECTIONS: Directions to the Bridge to Nowhere

If coming straight from Seattle (not going to Portland first):
Take I-5 South Merge onto I-205 S via EXIT 7 (this exit is in Washington) toward WA-14 / SALEM / I-84 (you will cross over into Oregon while on I-205)

Get onto Highway 224 (southbound) via EXIT 12A (toward CLACKAMAS / ESTACADA)

(if you are coming from Portland, take I-84 E to I-205 to Hwy 224)

Go through Estacada and keep going for about 40 miles past Estacada on Hwy 224 (Estacada is 25 miles south-east of Portland)

Just after Ripplebrook there is a sharp right in the road (you will stay to the right here).

From this point on you will want to watch for (and follow) the signs towards Bagby Hot Springs. The signs will put you on Clackamas River Road (NFD 46) and then on Forest Service Road 63 (Collawash River Road) and I think perhaps onto another forest service road or two after that, but don?t worry about the road names/numbers, just follow the signs to Bagby (they are clearly marked).

The forest service roads become narrow and eventually turn into gravel. Keep following signs to Bagby Hot Springs until you get to a Y in the road (the road to the right goes up a hill and the road to the left is flat). This Y is just before you get to Bagby. Going right at this Y (don?t do it!) would take you up the hill and to the Bagby Hot Springs parking lot (so if you get to Bagby you?ve gone too far and you?ll need to turn around and go back to the Y). Instead of going right, go left at the Y. Keep on this road for a while until you see a bridge that goes over a river. Don?t go over the bridge! Instead, there will be a little tiny road to your left. Take that road and it will take you to the Bridge to Nowhere.

The drive should take about 1 hour 45 minutes from Portland.

If you get lost, just get out of your car and rave it up cuz it will be just like being there!

Oh yeah, and thanks for listening to my gabber set - I had been wanting to spin that for a long time, and y'all gave me the oppurtunity. If there is a greater feeling than ruining the vibe in a chill-out area by dropping some 200 bpm terrorcore I want to know about it.

HONOLULU - Legendary Hawaiian crooner Don Ho was recovering Tuesday at a hospital in Thailand after undergoing an experimental stem cell procedure on his ailing heart.

Ho, 75, known for his signature tune "Tiny Bubbles," underwent a new treatment that has not been approved in the United States. It involves multiplying stem cells taken from his blood and injecting them into his heart in hopes of strengthening the organ, according to Ed Brown, a close friend.

After the treatment, Ho's vital signs were excellent, but he remained seriously ill and was in the hospital's intensive care unit, Brown said in a telephone interview from his home in Malibu, Calif.

Ho, who has entertained tourists for more than four decades, has suffered from heart problems for about a year and had a pacemaker implanted a few months ago.

In August, Ho was admitted to a hospital with shortness of breath. He was treated for an abnormal heart rhythm and released after three days. He soon returned to his Waikiki show on a reduced schedule.

"He felt well enough, but his pacer sometimes would go off in his chest and scare the hell out of him," Brown said. "That's a difficult thing to live with right in the middle of 'Tiny Bubbles.'"

Ho spokeswoman Donna Jung said Ho hopes to return to the stage soon. He is expected to return from Bangkok in about two weeks.

The procedure Ho underwent was developed by TheraVitae Co., which has offices in Thailand and laboratories in Israel, where Ho's stem cells were sent to be multiplied.

Dr. Robb MacLellan, associate professor of cardiology at the University of California at Los Angeles, said a similar stem cell treatment has been used in Europe for a couple of years. Studies approved by the Food and Drug Administration are being conducted in the United States.

[FABULOUS!] ULTRA-FABULOUS! Update

Welcome back to another installment of this FABULOUS! newsletter.
We have a lot of announcements in this update, so let's get moving with the content.

First off, FABULOUS! Radio is moving times. Starting Monday.December.05.2005, we will begin broadcasting at 9pee-emm [PST] on Monday nights on KPSU Radio. Our new lead-in is a wonderful show hosted by the FABULOUS! Eliza, so tune-in to her show as well. For the first couple of weeks FABULOUS! Radio will be 2 hours long and go until 11, then we will shift back down to the 1 hour slot after the Holidays.

Secondly, To kick off our new time slot and change, we are bringing Electric Mayhem [Sidetrakkt Productions, PA] to play an fully kick ass psytrance set on Monday.December.05.2005. You may have caught him at this past summers Phoenix Festival, he was the guy who followed up Cosmosis on the main stage Sunday night. This is a set that is not to be missed. Psytrance in Portland has become quite stale, hopefully some east coast love will change that.

Then the following week, Monday.December.12.2005 we have FractAlien [Chaos Existence, pdXXX] coming in to play his first ever KPSU live set. He has graced the decks a few times in the past in our lovely studios, but now he is ready to blow it up LIVE! This is a set that is not to be missed!

On the gig related side, I am playing a "downtempo" set at The Noir [formerly The Rabbit Hole, 203 SE Grand, pdXXX] on Sunday.December.04.2005. It is part of a weekly series called Unwind and is free. We all know that I get a little antsy sometimes, so don't be surprised if my downtempo turns uptempo. The night starts at 8 and I don't know the line-up so head down, have some drinks and enjoy Unwinding to some mellow beats before starting another hectic week of work.

Then on Tuesday.December.06.2005, come out to the premier night of a new regular happening called ULTRA-FABULOUS! @ The Red Room [2530 NE 82nd AVE, pdXXX]. The night is hosted by Ultra-Tom and DJ Fabulous and will feature nothing but the sexy. No cover charge, pool tables, alcohol, food and ULTRA-FABULOUS! music, all starting at 9pee-emm. We have lots planned for this new series, so come out and tell your friends. Be part of the beginning of a new piece of history.

ok fucker, he's the swear on my grandmother's grave, honest fucking truth. phoenix fest 2002 i happened upon your camp, early in the morning when everyone was either hung over and if lucky, still tripping. anyhoo...whoever were the geniuses behind chickenhed's maniacal scheme to take over the universe, those beautiful monkies, i fed them shots of tequila for breakfast. like an offering to the gods. a southern baptist sermon was booming the airways. beautiful, flawless in it's delivery. truth, deliverance, bend over and take it like only jesus can give it deliverance! at this point, it was rumored you had made a few enemies...think it was your neighbor, the ""i'm too sexy for your party, a.k.a, "fringe" local celebrity hotshot camp". for some reason, i recall deafening flatulence thundering from your speakers. i was in awe. more tequila was poured. i actually believed i had made some lifelong friends. (tequila - lover of lies and dellusion, but still the best fuck in all 50 states). hallelujah!

to this day, those who know me well, have heard the legend of chickenhed camp. to this day, you remain my favorite. i have looked for you at burningman multiple years like a marage in the desert. but you were nowhere to be found.

until now. please, oh please, tell me this is real. have i finally found you?

was impressed by the chickenhed.

" Saturday morning, I was awakened at 7:00AM by the asshole DJ on the morning shift at the Chicken Hed stage, apparently the same one as the previous day. He first turned up the sound system as loud as it would go, then got on the PA and announced that "This set is for all of you people who are trying to sleep right now. It's 7 in the morning, and if you want us to stop, you'll have to come down here!" He then proceeded to play Milli Vanilli, MC Hammer, and other horrible 1980s rap."

OK just the facts- no awesome prose!

I just lost an actress for the short film I'm producing which is slated to be included on the forthcoming Mouse on Mars live dvd.

The film is titled "Mouths on Lamaze" and, long story short, I need either:

- a pregnant woman who will be available in the bay area in early March

or

- a not-pregnant woman comfortable with being filmed rather up-close from stirrups. (there will be a green piece of fabric over the vagina as we are green-screening in mouths. The mouths are sideways. They converse with each other and queef MOM melodies.)

There will probably not be any nudity, although suckling may be filmed, and the model will be basically naked at least from the waist down for a few hours.

It would be nice if there were no tattoos, although that's not a deal-breaker.

And there is no money to be made for filming. It's for ART!

It's not a speaking part, just squirming a little bit with green fabric.

Also, the face will probably not to be used.

This is a cry for assistance from the Voice of Reason.

Think about all the ladies you know who might want to do this and would be around and please reply quick!

Outsider Artists Project (SOAP) is hosting its first ever
auto-curated exhibition. That's right, it brings its own art
(with a little help from you, of course). The premise: for one
night only, the public is welcome to hang, install, perform, or
